Step-by-Step Directions
With a few materials and these directions, you can make your own wood Easter eggs that will last year after year. Customize your wooden eggs by picking your favorite colors or adding embellishments like ribbon or glitter.
Step 1: Make Shapes
Use craft punches to cut shapes from vinyl tape to create stencils. Editor’s Tip: To align the tape when punching designs, hold the punch upside down so you can see where you are punching
Step 2: Stick on Stencils
Apply stencils to eggs and use fingers to burnish along the edges of each shape to ensure it’s tightly adhered.
Step 3: Paint Eggs
With a slightly dry brush, apply color wash to eggs, starting at the edges of stencils. Let dry and remove tape. Editor’s Tip: Create a color wash by mixing two parts of craft paint with one part of water.
